Groundsperson

Purpose of role:

To provide general upkeep and maintenance of the yard, parking lot and surrounding areas

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • General knowledge of yard work machinery
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to communicate with CEC or Executive Director issue arises
  • Stay consistent with logging hours (signing in and out) and maintaining a commitment to shifts
  • Follow all shelter protocols, practices and instructions as directed by TBDHS

 

Time Commitment:

Minimum 6 Month Commitment

“On Call” availability preferred but not required (Seasonal)

 

Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Cutting grass in summer months
  • Shovelling walkways in winter months
  • Hole fill in dog yards
  • Weed whacking/pulling in spring/summer
  • Small planter upkeep/gardening
  • Poop Scooping
  • Documentation of hours

 

As per TBDHS recruitment expectations, Volunteers must complete:

TBDHS Volunteer application form

Interview with Community Engagement Coordinator (in-person, Zoom or Facetime)

Once accepted, complete an in-person tour and orientation
