Volunteer
Volunteering with the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society
The Thunder Bay & District Humane Society has designed a Volunteer Program that allows our Volunteers to contribute in a dedicated and meaningful way. Our applications are designated to specific roles to ensure we are able to implement Volunteers efficiently into our shelter. We welcome and encourage all individuals to apply for the position that best suits you.
Note: There are no evening opportunities at this time. Volunteer shifts run until 4:30PM daily (given the exception of an occasional evening event).
AGE REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older to apply. Volunteers between the age of 14-16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Between 16-18 will require a parent or guardian’s signed consent. 18 years of age and above can volunteer alone with no parent or guardian consent.
To apply, please fill out our volunteer application form. Once you have completed your application, you should receive a message that it has been submitted to our team. Once your application is reviewed and approved our Coordinator will contact you to schedule an interview. Due to a high influx of student applications, students may experience longer wait times for a call back and orientation if they have been approved.
Note – due to a limited team on site, we are not able to contact all applicants.
We thank you for your interest in Volunteering with our organization!
